Ultimate travel guide for Jupiter Florida
I’ve lived in Palm Beach County for a year and a half now, and although I’m not completely sold on this area quite yet (it’s a little too bougie for my liking), I have quickly come to love the charming town of Jupiter.
I think the reason I love it so much is because it reminds me of St Pete on the West Coast of Florida, where I used to live, and in my opinion, it’s a lot more low-key than the rest of Palm Beach County.
That said, I thought I’d share all the best things to do in Jupiter Florida, from sipping and sunbathing to beach bumming and bar crawling. Jupiter is truly a hidden gem in the Sunshine State and has a little something for everyone, so if you’re planning a trip to Palm Beach, make sure to add this charming coastal town to your travel itinerary!

Things to know before you go

Jupiter Florida Map
Where is Jupiter, Florida? Jupiter is a small coastal town in Palm Beach County in the Southeastern part of Florida along the Atlantic Coast. It’s about 15 miles north of West Palm Beach and around 87 miles north of Miami.
Jupiter is known for its beautiful beaches and outdoor recreational activities and is home to the Jupiter Lighthouse, an iconic landmark that’s been around for over 160 years. It also happens to be a hub for several celebrities like Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, Celine Dion, Kid Rock, and formerly Burt Reynolds.
How to get to Jupiter
Getting to Jupiter is relatively easy, as there are a few major airports reasonably close and easily accessible by car.
Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) is the closest airport to Jupiter Florida (about 20 miles South). Other airports near Jupiter Florida include Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), a little over an hour away, and Miami International Airport (MIA), an hour and 45 minutes away.
Orlando International Airport (MCO) is another option if you plan to spend some time at the Florida theme parks and are heading South. It’s about two and a half hours away by Florida’s Turnpike or I-95.
You can also get to Jupiter by the Tri-Rail if you’re coming from South Florida or the Brightline if you’re coming from another part of Florida. However, you would need to get off at the West Palm Beach station and take an Uber or Lyft to Jupiter.
You can even get to Jupiter by boat, as there are many marinas and water access points to dock your boat along the Intracoastal Waterway and the Loxahatchee River.
Getting around Jupiter, FL
Although rideshare services like Uber and Lyft are available, I always recommend renting a car so you have the freedom to explore the area on your own schedule and fully immerse yourself in everything that Palm Beach County has to offer (which is a lot).
This will give you the opportunity to engage in all of the best Jupiter Florida things to do and allow you to explore the other unique cities in Palm Beach County, like West Palm Beach and Palm Beach Island.
If you’re planning on spending most of your time in Jupiter, biking is another great way to get around and enjoy some amazing scenic views along the way. If you’re interested in renting a bike, check out these bike rentals Jupiter here and here.
Best time to visit Jupiter Florida
Jupiter, Florida, has a pleasant subtropical climate, making it an appealing destination any time of year. Many visitors escape to Jupiter during the winter months (aka snowbirds) when the weather is mild and comfortable, making it an ideal time for outdoor activities, especially golfing.
Spring is my absolute favorite season, as the weather in Jupiter Florida is warmer but still pleasant, in the 70’s to 80’s. This is a great time to explore the area’s attractions and embark on some outdoor adventures. You start seeing a LITTLE temperature break in Fall, but this also happens to be hurricane season, so make sure to monitor weather forecasts if you’re visiting during this time.
Summer in Florida is honestly dreadful, as the Jupiter Florida weather is EXTREMELY hot and humid, with temperatures well into the 90’s. This is a great time to visit if you want to go to the beach, enjoy water sports, and go fishing. However, it’s also rainy season, so expect to see afternoon thunderstorms most days.

Soak up the sun at Jupiter Beach Florida
Let’s kick off this list with the undeniable showstopper, the Jupiter Florida beaches! If you’re also looking for one of the best free things to do in Jupiter Florida, this is it!
Jupiter offers some of the most picturesque stretches of sand in the state. From Jupiter Beach to Carlin Park Beach, you’ll find pristine shores perfect for sunbathing, swimming, or simply taking a leisurely stroll. This is also a great place to watch the sunset (or sunrise if you can wake up that early, hehe).

Hop around Love Street
Love Street has become one of our favorite places in Jupiter FL to post up on the weekends! Located on the Intracoastal Waterway, this popular waterfront dining and entertainment destination is known for its scenic views, casual atmosphere, and a variety of unique restaurants and shops.
If you’re planning on visiting, you have to check out Topside at the Beacon, a tiki-style rooftop tapas & craft cocktail lounge with stunning views of the Jupiter Lighthouse. They also have a DAILY happy hour from 3-6 pm on select snacks, wines, spirits, and more, making it the perfect place to grab a drink with a view.

Enjoy the afternoon at Blowing Rocks Beach
If you’re in the mood for a beach day that’s anything but ordinary, allow me to introduce you to Blowing Rocks Beach, a barrier island along Florida’s Atlantic Coast on Jupiter Island.
The most iconic feature of this preserve is the eroded limestone rock formations filled with small natural holes and cavities that create dramatic “blowing” geysers that can shoot water up to 50 feet in the air. It’s truly unlike anything I’ve ever seen!
Beyond the blowing rocks is a pristine beach area with beautiful clear blue waters, making it an ideal spot to relax, sunbathe, swim, and snorkel. There are also several well-maintained hiking trails that wind through coastal hammocks, mangrove swamps, and other unique Florida ecosystems.
Out of all the fun things to do in Jupiter Florida, this is one you absolutely don’t want to miss! The admission fee is only a $2 per person donation, and parking is free. I also recommend going during high tide (around 10 am) to see the blowing rocks in full effect, or you can go in the afternoon during low tide if you plan to relax on the beach.

Also in Abacoa is Das Beer Garden, one of my favorite breweries in all of Palm Beach County. From IPAs and stouts to ciders and sours, Das has 70 taps featuring local Florida breweries, limited releases, and national favorites.
They also have a great food menu filled with German-inspired fare, including burgers, brats, pretzels, and more! They also have DAStoberfest coming up on September 30th, AND Taking Back Sunday is playing (I’m so excited!), so if you’re looking for a taste of Germany in the Sunshine State, this is an event you don’t want to miss!
